Srila Prabhupada requested that the original 1st canto which he carried with him from India be properly edited to the highest standard of the English written word. He also wanted everything written after he came to America to also be properly edited. It was after un-qualified ambitious disciples failed to edit his books properly when he dismissed them as rascal editors. Yet it was clearly he always wanted to have his books polished to the highest level of the English:
“…if there is one mistake in one book, then you spoil the whole book. Murder the whole book.” c/o Pradyumna dasa – SL_720919_A
Above all, Srila Prabhupada was most anxious about saturating the entire world with copies of his transcendental books! The Mac72 edition of his books is available for those who only want to read that version, but an edited version must also be kept current to ensure the general pub-lic does not get distracted by misunderstanding words that will inevitably change over the course of time.
